Putting Together a Welcome Basket to Make Your Overnight Guest Feel Right at Home

Are you looking for ways to make your overnight guests feel extra special?  Putting together a guestroom welcome basket is a fantastic idea. A basket that contains all the essentials and a few extra treats will make your guest feel right at home.

Lets Start with the Basics

The basic items you’ll need for your basket are the toiletries. Use small containers if possible. You don’t want your basket to take up too much space. Here’s what I put in mine.

  • shampoo and conditioner
  • toothpaste and spare toothbrush
  • body wash
  • mouthwash
  • lotion

Throw in a Few Extras

Here are some extra items to make your guest feel comfortable.

  • a card with the wi-fi name and password (I printed the one above from a free template on Canva)
  • a phone charger
  • a water carafe and glass or bottled water
  • snacks (your guest favorites if you know them)

A box of Tissues probably won’t fit in your welcome basket but it is always to have in the guestroom.

Another item that your guest will really appreciate is a luggage rack. It elevates their suitcase to a comfortable height saving you or your guests from bending down to the floor.

When you’re deciding which items to add to your basket, put yourself in their place and choose the things that you would appreciate or that you have forgotten before (we’ve all done it) 🙂

I hope these tips have inspired you to create your own guest room hospitality basket for your next house guest.
